We’re proud of our amazing team at ESPHR and wanted to share a behind-the-scenes look into each of our colleagues. So, each month, we’ll ‘introduce’ you to one of them so you can find out more about their role, what they love most about it, and why ESPHR is making such a difference in the world of employee relations…

Summarise what you do at ESPHR?

I’m part of the administration and operations team, which means my day-to-day is pretty varied – depending on what is happening within the wider business!

Generally, it involves a lot of customer-focused work as I look after any customer renewals and new business onboarding, but I also take care of the monthly updates to our online suite of legal documents that customers can download. The rest of my time is spent speaking to customers and putting them in touch with their advisors when required.

I am also the go-to girl for our teams’ stationery and travel needs – and I take pride in making sure they have everything they could ever need… including very important brownie deliveries!

Outline your background prior to joining the team?

Very different to employment law! I come from a creative background and worked as a freelance graphic designer before setting up my own business for wedding stationery and calligraphy. I was looking for a part-time job which meant I could still work on my own business and ESPHR has been a perfect fit! I absolutely love the balance of working in an office with a team and still having time to be creative at home.

What is your favourite part of the job?

It has to be the feeling of contributing to such a great company that, in turn, offers unrivalled service to so many organisations and brands.

What do you think ESPHR offers, that no other business in the industry does?

Honesty and transparency, alongside a very genuine promise to help support HR teams across the country.

Who is your ‘dream’ customer and why?

Hotel Chocolat. Because chocolate is life.

What is the one thing that you’d want your customers to know you for?

Being efficient and helpful.

What would you like to achieve over the next 12 months – at ESPHR and individually?

For ESPHR to keep winning lots of awards which helps to build our reputation as being the go-to firm for ER and employment law support!

As for me, I would like to keep progressing in my operations role and take on more managerial responsibilities.

You’re in an industry that never stops. What’s in store for ER over the next 12 months?

As I write this, we are in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic. This will have major effects on all areas of our professional and personal life and I think there will be massive changes to how people work, and the way in which businesses manage their teams in the future – but we will just have to wait and see!

Outside of work, what do you like doing?

Most of the things I like doing outside of work are on hold as a result of the coronavirus lockdown. Ordinarily, it would be eating out, or looking forward to my next holiday. For the time being though, I will just have to spend my time binging on American reality TV shows! What a shame…
