The Chancellor has today further extended the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (the furlough scheme) to 30 April 2021, stating that businesses need certainty.
The eligibility criteria for the scheme remain the same and the government will continue to pay 80% of wages up to the cap of £2,500 per month. Employers will remain liable for National Insurance contributions and pension payments for hours not worked.
