As a firm which places Employee Relations (ER) at our heart, we are proud of the amazing team here at esphr. That is why our current employee Q&A seeks to share a little more about each one of our colleagues.
In this month’s instalment we caught up with Hannah Vanston, our operations executive, who shares an insight into her creative tendencies, the award she was most proud of during her school days, and why her role is the perfect match for her.
1. What’s the one thing which marks esphr out as an employer of choice?
Working with such a close knit and lovely team with everyone working towards the same goal.
2. What would you say if you were to explain what esphr does to an alien?
We’re a friendly employment law firm helping businesses to manage their teams.
3. If you could give anyone an internal award, who would it be and what would it be for?
Everyone deserves awards at esphr. We’re a small, friendly team and when someone is missing you really notice! Everyone plays their part each and every day — it’s great to be a part of.
4. What is your funniest memory of someone in the team?
I’m lucky enough to have been on some great esphr trips in the UK and abroad. All of them have been such a laugh with great memories made – it’d be impossible to pick just one.
5. What keeps the job interesting for you?
That my role is completely varied and not pigeonholed to ‘one’ department.
6. If you hadn’t chosen/gone into the career you’re in, what other profession would you be in?
I come from a graphic design background so probably something creative I like to think!
7. Where do you see esphr in five years’ time?
There will be a lot of changes at esphr now that we are part of a bigger company. The possibilities are endless, yet all exciting!
8. A little-known fact about you?
I won runner up for best hair at school (I did come first for everyone’s best friend, but the hair award was more important to me ha!).
9. If we went into lockdown again, who would you like to be locked down with and why?
My family and husband.
10. Which five celebrities (dead or alive) would you invite to a dinner party?
The cast of Queer Eye – because I think they are the best people on earth.
