We’re proud of our amazing team at ESPHR and wanted to share a behind-the-scenes look into each of our colleagues. So, each month, we’ll ‘introduce’ you to one of them so you can find out more about their role, what they love most about it, and why ESPHR is making such a difference in the world of employee relations…

1. Summarise what you do at ESPHR

I am a senior solicitor and advise on all employment matters – both contentious and non-contentious – including tribunal proceedings, and a range of complex HR issues.

2. Outline your background prior to joining the team?

I trained and qualified with Wedlake Bell LLP – a London City law firm – where I was an employment solicitor for six years. I then moved to the fast-paced trading floor of Cantor Fitzgerald as in-house employment counsel.

Prior to joining ESPHR, I was a senior employment solicitor with Backhouse Jones, the UK’s number one national road transport law firm, for five years.

3. What’s your favourite part of the job?

I enjoy getting to know a customer’s business well and building a good relationship with them.

4. What do you think ESPHR offers, that no other business in the industry does?

High-quality commercial advice coupled with real responsiveness to customer needs. Also, the legal team work very hard and go above and beyond to help customers achieve their goals.

5. What’s your ‘dream’ customer and why?

I like working with fashion and retail brands – which ESPHR has good experience in acting for – because I have a real interest in the industry. So, if Chanel came knocking, I would feel hard-pressed to refuse!

6. Describe ESPHR in one word

Innovative.

7. What is the one thing that you’d want your customers to know you for?

I think the good relationship I have with customers is key. I want them to trust me, and have faith that I am providing straightforward commercial advice with practical guidance.

8. What would you like to achieve over the next 12 months – at ESPHR and individually?

I would like to continue establishing strong relationships with customers so that I become – or continue to be – a trusted member of their team.

9. Outside of work, what do you like doing?

Visiting the theatre and art galleries, as well as indulging in my love of painting, fine dining and baking.
